For the past decade every president, presidential contender and Congressman supported border control. They gave speeches on the House Floor on the need to have border control and that illegal immigrants shouldn't be allowed to come to our country and become citizens.
Walls have worked for every country seeking to protect its borders. Not only have they worked for countries, but walls/fencces have worked for our nations prison system and other areas we want to securely protect. President Trump is actively trying to do something about border control by building a wall along our southern borders. But now all of a sudden those individuals who were for border control are now against it. They claim a border wall or fence won't work. It should be noted that they same people who are against a wall or secure fence, have them erected to protect their homes.
What changed? Politics.
